Introduction
My name is Professor Peter Olu. Olayiwola. I am a teacher, coach and mentor in Digital Forensics, Cyber Security and Information Technology.
I pioneered the training in computer, mobile and phone forensics in West Africa, and founded the Computer Forensics Institute, Nigeria (CFIN) in 2008. I am Nigeria and West Africa’s first Professor of Digital Forensics and a Visiting Professor of Digital Forensics at the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. I also teach Digital Forensics at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. I have been teaching digital forensics since 2006. I have over four (4) decades of information technology experience and over 16 years’ experience in Digital Forensics.
I am the Managing Forensics Examiner/CEO of First Digital & Techno-Law Forensics Co. Ltd. which is the leading digital forensics practicing firm in Nigeria. We base our corporate Headquarters in the city of Abuja, Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

We developed this platform after 16 years of practical experience in Digital Forensics.
A bit of history
The Computer Forensics Institute, Nigeria (CFIN) started full-time residential Bootcamps for the certification of computer forensics examiners in 2008. It held its first Induction Ceremony in 2010, sponsored by the ECOWAS Commission and the UNODC. Since then the Institute has certified computer forensics examiners from all Law-enforcement Agencies, the Military, intelligence and security agencies, financial institutions, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, Anti-Corruption Agencies, including Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other related Offences Commission (ICPC) in Nigeria and also certified for seven West African countries - all trained through the full-time residential Professional Certification Boot Camp organized and conducted by First Digital & Techno-Law Forensics Co. Ltd.
Our students in the past have come from the judiciary, law, military, intelligence and security agencies, law-enforcement and anti-corruption agencies. Others included: prosecutors, investigators, auditors, bank inspectors, accountants, engineers, information technology professionals, security officers, forensic examiners and cyber security officers, academia, international communities, foreign missions and others from various fields.
The need for this online training program
The need for this online platform arose out of the necessity to satisfy the yearning, to study computer, phone and mobile forensics, of busy executives and individuals who could not attend the full-time, residential Bootcamps. This according to many, is because of pressure of time and other considerations such as: distance to the training centres, the extra expenses required for travel, accommodation and other expenses necessary for a regular full-time residential program.Therefore, this platform provides the convenience for our participants from all over the world to study in their homes, offices or while on the move at their own pace and get certified as Digital Forensics Examiners.

We will also have prepared you ready to sit for the Certification Examination of the Computer Forensics Institute, Nigeria (CFIN) for the MCFI (Member, Computer Forensics Institute) designation. You do not have any information technology (IT) background? No problem! We assume that a lot of our students will come from other disciplines different from IT. We shall start with the basics, including an overview of information technology, then proceed through the core areas of digital forensics step by step. Our goal is to transform you into a Certified Digital Forensics Examiner.
